Await Rescue on The Rhythm Section Podcast and Ten Miles Music Blog

25 Apr

We have been extremely fortunate as of late that awesome people have been taking the time to check out our new album "Everyone You Know" and then letting other people know about it.

This past week, Johnny and Rob from The Rhythm Section Podcast took the time to talk about "Everyone You Know" and also had some fun reading our bio.  It is highly entertaining stuff, and if you haven't tuned into The Rhythm Section yet, you are missing out.

If you want to check out and download this week's episode of The Rhythym Section for free, click HERE.

But the good luck/news doesn't stop there…

Nope!

Because the totally rad, MA-based music blog Ten Miles reviewed "Everyone You Know" and was far too kind in the process.

Here's a highlight:

Everyone You Know is hard, heavy rock music. There are no unnecessary frills to distract the listener from their solid melodies, but definitely don’t take that to mean the music is simple. Complex harmonies and structures are satisfying on a musical level while their intensity satisfies on that lizard-brain level where you just want to scream along.

Everyone You Know EP Review: Electric Lighthouse Records

8 Apr

Massive thanks to Mike Gordon and his awesome team at Electric Lighthouse Records for reviewing our new EP and suggesting that "Everyone" should own it.

Pretty clever!

But in all reality, we couldn't agree more with Mike about wanting everyone to have it, which is why we are letting people name their own price (yes, this even includes free) for the Everyone You Know EP on our music page.

Here are a few snippets from Mike's overly kind review:

It isn’t everyday that a band releases something that jumps right out at you and slaps you in the ears… Nothing synthesized, or made up. Just raw emotions pouring out into the hard disk. This is why you should be telling Everyone You Know about this record.

Did I also mention these guys put on a kick ass live show too?! I got the chance to check these guys out at Church last Friday and they totally blew me away! Making an awesome sounding record is fairly easy in today’s times. Recreating that live is a whole story unto itself. It really shows what this band is made of.

If you want to be kept up-to-date on all of the area's best shows and can't miss releases, be sure to follow Mike's top-notch work at ElectricLighthouseRecordings.com

TONIGHT: Everyone You Know EP Release Show

GET TIX

Thank You, Scott McLennan – Boston Globe

Boston By Beat - Boston.com

This is pretty unbelievable.

Scott McLennan was amazing enough to take the time and review our new EP "Everyone You Know" for his Boston By Beat column yesterday, and although it has been almost 24 hours since the review was posted, we still cannot believe it.

It is crazy to us that Scott listened to our record and ended up liking it so much that he wrote a review that is entirely too kind.

"Await Rescue's new E.P. "Everyone You Know" is unvarnished hard rock. I waited for the gimmick. The ironic cover. The maybe-we-need-a-ballad limp spot. Or one of those novelty choruses Buckcherry is so good at.

Nothing. Just solid, speaker-rattling rock. Tears of joy splattered my Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, and Audioslave records.

Await Rescue celebrates the release of "Everyone You Know" Friday, April 5, at Church, 69 Kilmarnock St., Boston. The show is at 8 p.m. with Amos Blood, The Life Electric, and Mammother

Bassist Corey Fyfe is the the new recruit joining singer Johnny Cutulle, guitarist Andrew Morse, and drummer Matt Morse in the group. And while the band keeps everything pretty heavy, "Everyone You Know" isn't monochrome.

"Stars and Suns" and "All She Needs" bring down the tempos without sacrificing any of the fuzz 'n' buzz. For blinding fury, the band serves up "Thanks, But No Thanks." "Better Off" builds on a heavy-hitting blues riff and primal beat. And shades of Page linger in the urgency of "Built to Roam."

The title track is where the band pulls it all together, opening with a few verses of deceiving calm that slowly turns to rage as Cutulle uncorks an indictment. It's all a little dark and murky, but the energy just soars as the song barrels along.

Nothing fussy here, nothing over thought or overwrought. And definitely no gimmicks. Except this one: You can snag this 6-song set for free here"

Being mentioned in that legendary company on The Boston Globe's website?  Pretty crazy, but we'll take it.

Thanks, Scott.
